TORONTO (March 21, 2022) – The Toronto Beaches today are proud to announce that the club has agreed to an affiliation agreement with the Cobourg Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse.
“The Cobourg Kodiaks are very excited to announce the affiliation with Toronto Beaches Jr A for the 2022 season. With several Beaches alumni already playing for the Kodiaks, the affiliation is the next step in building a platform of succession within both organizations,” said Kodiaks General Manager John Webb. “The development of players and culture of winning is what we strive for in building this relationship with the Beaches. We look forward to growing this affiliation long term so that both organizations benefit from developing every player to become the best they can be.”
The Kodiaks have drafted a number of Beaches alumni over the last few years, including Aaron Forster and Rowan Kelly (2018), Jackson Nishimura and Mitch Gustavsen (2019), Ethan Woods and Skkylar Thomas (2020), and Cam Wyers, Curtis Conley, and Curtis Romanchych (2021). Beaches grads Marcus Minichiello and Jackson Brown also featured on the Kodiaks’ roster during the 2021 MSL season.
“We are extremely happy to have the opportunity to be affiliated with the Cobourg Kodiaks. This agreement gives our Beach Boys a senior club to look forward to playing for once their respective junior lacrosse careers come to an end. We look forward to seeing our Beach Boys make the jump to the next level with the Kodiaks.” Beaches President Carter Livingstone said of the agreement between the two clubs.
We are excited to begin our journey alongside Cobourg and give our graduates the best opportunity possible to reach their ultimate goals of playing at the top levels of lacrosse.
