(TORONTO, ON) January 18, 2024 — The Toronto Beaches today announced that the team has added American forward AJ Nikolic ahead of the 2024 season.
“I Can’t wait to learn the ins and outs of the box game from incredible players and coaches on the Beaches. I’m looking forward to this summer,” Nikolic said of joining the Beach.
A Paoli, Pennsylvania native, Nikolic is currently in his freshman year at Cornell University. The righty was a five-star recruit coming out of Malvern Prep, who has been described as an explosive and hard-nosed player who is crafty both with and without the ball.
“We are very excited to add AJ this summer. He has a deep passion and a solid background in the box game. He attends one of the best universities in the world and believe he will be able to use his experience there to fit in seamlessly with our group here in Toronto,” Beaches Head Coach Reilly O’Connor said.
Cornell has become a home for several Beach Boys over the last few years. Nikolic currently plays alongside now-Beaches teammate Willem Firth as well as Beaches graduate Andrew Dalton. Beaches forward Peyton Booth is also committed to play his collegiate lacrosse in Ithaca with the Big Red next year.
The Beaches will open the 2024 season on May 22 when we head on the road to face the St. Catharines Athletics. The team will make its long-awaited return to Ted Reeve Arena on May 24 for a showdown with the Burlington Blaze.
