Beaches announce 2025 Coaching Staff

(TORONTO, ON) February 7, 2025 — The Toronto Beaches Jr A Lacrosse Club today announced their coaching staff ahead of the 2025 OJLL season.

Reilly O’Connor will return for his fifth season as the Head Coach of the Beaches. He’ll be joined by Offensive Coach Mike McKay and Defensive Coaches Damon Edwards and Luc Magnan.

“I’m very excited to have the whole staff back. I truly believe we have four head coaches,” O’Connor said. “The team is in good hands with such great leaders.”

McKay is nearing a decade as a member of the Beaches’ staff. He, alongside O’Connor, has helped the Beaches become one of the most consistent units in the league. The team has finished in the top four at least in goals-for league-wide in three of the four seasons they’ve helmed the Beaches’ attack.

An Assistant Coach with the Albany FireWolves, McKay was also on the staff for Canada at the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships, taking home a gold medal.

This will be Edwards’ seventh season with the Jr A team. The Beaches product spends his time giving back to sports in his community, helping to coach at Beast Athletics along with the Beaches.

Magnan will also be going into year five behind the Beaches’ bench. The veteran defender is in his ninth NLL season, playing with the Ottawa Black Bears. Along with the Beaches, Magnan also teaches and coaches at The Hill Academy, helping to develop the next wave of lacrosse stars.
