TORONTO, ON (April 1, 2025) — The Toronto Beaches announced today that the team has acquired defender Caelan Mander from the Delta Islanders of the BCJALL.
“We are thrilled to add Caelan to our group. He has a great pedigree, already playing 2 years in the NLL and in 2 Minto Cups,” Beaches Head Coach Reilly O’Connor said. “He will bring experience, athleticism and leadership to our group on our quest to our ultimate goal.”
Mander, 20, spent his junior career to date with the Port Coquitlam Saints, helping the team to its first-ever Minto Cup appearance in 2024. He appeared in 17 games with the Saints during the 2024 season, scoring seven goals and finishing his season with 10 points in transition. A year prior, Mander had 14 goals and 23 points in 19 outings.
In 2022, Mander played for the Edmonton Miners during their run to the Minto Cup Final that season. He had three goals and five points in seven games during that year’s Canadian National Championship tournament.
The Surrey, British Columbia native was originally selected by the Halifax Thunderbirds in the second round (36th overall) of the 2023 NLL Draft. He is currently in his second season in the National Lacrosse League, where he plays with the Calgary Roughnecks.
In four games this season in his first year with the Roughnecks, Mander has one assist, 11 loose balls, and a pair of blocks. Across seven career games in the NLL, he has one point, 20 loose balls, two caused turnovers, and two blocks.
