(TORONTO, ON) March 10, 2025 — The Toronto Beaches announced today that the club has agreed to Junior B affiliate agreements with the OJBLL’s West Durham Ironheads and Nepean Knights.
“We are very excited to continue with our great partnerships with both the West Durham and Nepean organizations this coming season,” Beaches Head Coach Reilly O’Connor said. “We are very lucky to have such great relationships with these two groups. We know what we are getting with these two clubs that prioritize teaching the kids to play the right way and that align with our values.”
West Durham and the Beaches continue their longstanding affiliation, which has seen many Beaches stars make their first steps in junior lacrosse with the Ironheads program.
Notably, current NLL players like Jacob Hickey, Taylor Dooley, Dylan Robinson, Jakson Raposo, Andrew Kidd, and Taggart Clark all spent time with West Durham.
Six current Beaches players have played games previously for the Ironheads.
Nepean has become one of the best minor and junior lacrosse centres in Ontario over the past decade, producing top-tier talent that has transitioned to NCAA lacrosse and the NLL.
The Knights also captured their first Founders Cup Championship back in 2022, with several current Beaches players helping the team bring home the Jr. B Canadian National Championship.
Beaches captain Willem Firth and older brother, Sam — who is a Beaches graduate — are from the Nepean program. As is Beaches starter, Thomas Kiazyk, who is the reigning OJLL Goaltender of the Year.
