TORONTO, ON (October 1, 2025) — After five seasons as a member of the Toronto Beaches coaching staff, Defensive Coach Luc Magnan has decided to step away from the bench.
“It’s been an amazing five years coaching in the Beach. I’m so proud of everything we’ve built together and am grateful for all the memories,” Magnan said. “Thank you to the players, families, supporters, coaches, and management — it’s been an honour to be part of it.”
A Beaches alumnus, Magnan joined the Bench alongside current Head Coach Reilly O’Connor ahead of the shortened 2021 Bubble season. In his time helming the Beaches’ defence alongside Assistant Coach Damon Edwards, the team made the playoffs in four straight seasons, including a Minto Cup appearance in 2022.
“What Luc has done and meant to this organization for the last five years is immeasurable. He has a special gift to connect and get the most out of every single player. He set a great example and is an amazing role model for everyone in our organization,” Beaches Head Coach Reilly O’Connor said. “We greatly appreciate the commitment and sacrifices he made for this team. His presence and enthusiasm will be greatly missed, and he will always be a part of the Beaches.”
Away from the Beaches, Magnan also coaches at The Hill Academy and with the Snake Island Muskies, where he helped the team capture its first Presidents Cup in Brooklin in the summer.
The Beaches organization would like to thank Luc for five amazing years on the floor, as well as his commitment and dedication to the players and team. We wish Luc all the best in the future and hope he continues to excel both on the floor and on the bench as a coach!
