The Toronto Beaches welcomed four new players to the organization last Wednesday, selecting Finn Topping, Joe Fitzgerald, Reid Gillespie, and Brock Brennan in the 2026 Ontario Junior Lacrosse League Draft.
With the second overall pick in the draft, the Beaches grabbed Topping, a goaltender from London.
Over 18 combined games with the Blue Devils U17 team last summer, Topping helped backstop the team to an appearance in the OLA Final Six at the 2025 Lacrosse Festival.
Topping also competed for Team Ontario last summer at the Canada Summer Games, helping them to take home a Gold Medal.
He already has a partial junior season under his belt, having played half the year for London’s OJBLL squad in 2025. He appeared in nine games, starting six, and finished the summer with a 7.14 goals-against average and an .849 save percentage.
“I love the way Beaches communicated to me throughout the months before the draft, leading up to today,” Topping said. “I really appreciate the opportunity I have been given and can’t wait to learn not only to be a better goalie, but a leader.”
With their second pick of the draft at 11th overall, the team continued to solidify the crease, selecting Oro-Medonte native Joe Fitzgerald.
A 6-foot-3 goaltender, Fitzgerald has been an impressive backstop for the Orillia Kings during his minor lacrosse career, while also recently capturing a Jr NLL title with Toronto.
“I’m really excited to join the Beaches. It’s been one of my goals to get drafted to the OJLL, and to get drafted by the Beaches is even better,” Fitzgerald said. “I’m excited to get to work and to meet the players and coaching staff. Can’t wait to get to work and to see what happens over the next few years.”
Gillespie is a Port Colborne, Ontario product who comes to the Beaches from the Pelham minor lacrosse association.
A transition player, Gillespie compiled 18 games in 2025, posting two goals and six points. During provincials last summer, He had a goal and three points in five games for the Raiders.
“Seeing my name appear online was an unbelievable feeling. All the hard work over the past years has paid off. Thank you to all of my coaches throughout the year who have pushed me always to play my best, and I’m so excited and thankful to be a part of this amazing organization,” Gillespie said.
Brennan comes to the Beaches with some familiarity with the franchise, as his older brother, Calum, played for the Beaches in 2025.
The Kingsville, Ontario native captained the Windsor Warlocks in his final year, finishing his year with 12 goals and 20 points in 13 seasonal games before having six goals in four games during provincials.
Brennan was also able to play transition for the Windsor Clippers in the OJBLL for a game last summer.
His oldest brother, Kaden, was a draft pick of the Philadelphia Wings in the 2025 NLL Draft, while Calum will be draft eligible this coming fall.
